Objecting

Sculpture and video works

London

2019-2021

Objecting comprises a series of works in sculpture, drawing, performance and video, which have been developed as part of the ongoing project Manufacturing Dis-Content. The works explore how sculpture can communicate counter evidence to resist manipulative regeneration tactics. I aim to counteract the deliberate abstraction and misrepresentation of facts by producing objects from household materials that make the contested data tangible and accessible to non-experts.

The works have been developed to support the resident-led campaign to save the social housing estate St Raphael's in Brent from demolition and has been shown in public protest and as part of the resident’s social media campaign. They were also included in a solo exhibition at CLASSWAROOM, London and a group exhibition at The Royal Standard in Liverpool in 2022.
